BLACK NIGHT BLUES
(Ronnie Self)
RONNIE SELF (NOT ORIGINALLY ISSUED, 1957)
There's a little ol' joint down on the corner
You git in there, man you gonna be a goner
The red wine that runs like the water spouts
And once you get started you just can't stop
There's a little ol' man leading the band
He let's out a yell, we're the best in the land
He starts a little tapping with his worn out shoes
And yells let's give 'em black night blues
When the music starts to the drummer's beat
About this time you jump outta your seat
You get on the floor, stuff up your shoes
When they're playing the black night blues
There'll be a lotta yelling, more red wine
About this time you get to feeling fine
Dancing, swinging, kicking up your heels
You hear the blues, you know how it feels
