WHEN MY BABY CAME TO TOWN
(T. Gahn)
BLACK KNIGHTS (BOOZE, BZCD 103)

A streetlight was shinin', a lonely dog was cryin'
I thought my world was fallin' down
I was walkin' down the street, but no one did I meet
The night my baby came to town

But there she stood, dressed in black and red
Many thoughts were runnin' through my head
But her words were strange and funny
About me, her, and Bugs Bunny
So I asked her if she'd walk with me instead

She whispered; yes...
And grabbed my hand and led me down the road
She told me she was lonely
And then she hugged me and she kissed me on the cheek
While people stared, I was a king without a crown
The night my baby came to town

On a corner, she stopped, she said she's fallin'
She never met a guy like me before
I said, although I'm raised too
I never seen a face that
Thrilled me, the way you thrill me now

She said she liked me
And she grabbed my hand and led me down the road
She told me she was lonely
And then she hugged me and she kissed me on the cheek
While people stared, I was a king without a crown
The night my baby came to town
